Perforated vinyl printing
Perforated vinyl printing (One Way Vision) is a perforated advertising material applied to windows and shop fronts. From outside a full-colour advert is visible, while the view out is preserved from inside.
Perforated vinyl is self-adhesive film punched with microscopic holes. On glass, the full image shows from outside while visibility and daylight remain from inside. It is made for shop windows, office glazing and vehicle rear windows.
How one-way vision works
The surface is part printed area and part holes. Outside there is more light, so the eye reads the print and does not register the perforations. Inside there is less light, so the eye catches the view coming through the holes and does not register the print. It is not a physical trick — only a difference in brightness.
Why it matters on a shop window
Covering a window with ordinary vinyl darkens the shop and blinds staff to the street. Perforated vinyl solves that: the advertising works at full size while daylight and visibility remain inside. For the people working there, the difference is felt every day.
Giving the size
You enter width and length in centimetres and the quantity — there is no fixed size list, any size is possible. The price is calculated by area, so taking 10 cm off the width takes money off the price. Measure the space first: it can be trimmed later, it cannot be made bigger.
What to be aware of
At night the lighting reverses: when it is bright inside and dark outside, the effect reverses too and people can see in. The image also reads slightly less saturated than on solid vinyl, because part of the surface is open space.
File requirements
150 DPI is enough for large format — these are not viewed close up, and the 300 DPI a business card needs only makes the file heavier. Send artwork at actual size or to proportional scale, with 3 cm of bleed on every side. Keep text at least 5 cm inside the edge.
Production and delivery
Standard production is 3-5 working days; next working day carries a 50% surcharge and same working day 100%. Collection is free, delivery within Baku is 7 AZN, to the regions 20 AZN. The turnaround is counted in working days and weekends do not count: an order placed on Saturday with the next-working-day option is ready on Monday. The same-working-day option applies to orders placed before 12:00 and is not available on Saturdays.
Frequently asked questions
What is perforated vinyl used for?
Glazing: the full advert shows outside while visibility and light remain inside. It is the right material for shop windows and office glass.
What can you see from inside?
The view outside, with the print barely registering — in daylight. At night, with the lights on inside, the effect reverses.
Does the image look worse than on ordinary vinyl?
Slightly less saturated, since part of the surface is holes. From any distance the difference does not show.
Can it go on a car window?
Yes, it is widely used on rear windows — the driver can still see behind.
