Canvas printing
Canvas printing is high-quality printing of photographs, illustrations, décor and presentation materials onto canvas. It suits homes, offices, shops, exhibitions and other interior applications.
Canvas printing puts photographs and artwork onto woven fabric. Unlike paper, a fine weave texture stays visible on the surface, so the result reads as painted rather than printed. You set the size in centimetres, and standard production is 3-5 working days.
Why people choose canvas
A canvas surface is matt and textured, so it does not reflect light. A photograph behind glass mirrors the room's lighting and disappears from certain angles; canvas removes that problem entirely. It is the main reason canvas is chosen for interiors, office walls, restaurants and gifts.
Which images work well
The weave softens the very finest detail slightly. Portraits, landscapes, painting reproductions and edited photographs come out excellently. Small text, thin lines and technical drawings are not suited to canvas — those want smooth paper.
Giving the size
You enter width and length in centimetres and the quantity — there is no fixed size list, any size is possible. The price is calculated by area, so taking 10 cm off the width takes money off the price. Measure the space first: it can be trimmed later, it cannot be made bigger.
Image quality
150 DPI is enough on canvas, because the weave softens the finest detail anyway. A well-lit phone photograph prints acceptably even at large size; a small image taken from the internet will not. If in doubt, open the image at 100% zoom at the size it will print.
File requirements
150 DPI is enough for large format — these are not viewed close up, and the 300 DPI a business card needs only makes the file heavier. Send artwork at actual size or to proportional scale, with 3 cm of bleed on every side. Keep text at least 5 cm inside the edge.
Production and delivery
Standard production is 3-5 working days; next working day carries a 50% surcharge and same working day 100%. Collection is free, delivery within Baku is 7 AZN, to the regions 20 AZN. The turnaround is counted in working days and weekends do not count: an order placed on Saturday with the next-working-day option is ready on Monday. The same-working-day option applies to orders placed before 12:00 and is not available on Saturdays.
Frequently asked questions
What is canvas printing?
Printing an image onto woven fabric. A weave texture stays visible on the surface, so the result reads as painted rather than printed.
Why canvas instead of a glazed frame?
Canvas is matt and textured, so it does not reflect. Glass mirrors the room's lighting and the picture disappears from certain angles.
Which images do not work on canvas?
Small text, thin lines and technical drawings. The weave softens fine detail — those are better on smooth paper.
What resolution do I need?
150 DPI is enough. The weave softens detail anyway, so canvas does not need the resolution paper printing does.
